We all have holidays that we like the most, but what makes them special? I would like you to write about your favorite holiday and make it personal! Don't tell me you like Christmas because you get presents. Tell me you like Christmas because your mother used to bake a certain cake, or your father used to sing a certain song. I am interested in hearing why holidays are your favorite, or about one specific holiday that meant a lot to you.
This holiday can be from your country, or an American holiday. The best answers will be the ones that people don't know much about, so be creative when answering the question.
My favorite holiday is New Year. Although it make me feel older, but I also feel that new things and good things start to come into my life. I'm buddhism so I like to go to the temple to make merit and pray for good LucK!!
ReplyDeleteHalloween is my favorite holiday because It's the night of the year that I can wear the costume as I want to but I don't have any chance to wear it during the year and none is going to be care about it. I always drive all around the village to take a photos of my neighbor's house with all Halloween decoration. The best part of this holiday is going out to the club with all my peeps and have fun!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday is "Songkran"(water festival)It is the Thai traditional New Year in super long time ago. We normally celebrate on 12-15 April in every year. For religious style, we go to temple in the morning, merit the monk, pray together, and water the Buddhist images. For normal life, we water gently our grandparent, parents. Then we are enjoyable plashing with friends. We splash the water every where especially among young people. The funniest place is in Chiang Mai(big province of Northern of Thailand).
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday is Chiness New Year. It's a traditional Chiness holidays.I love this holidays because I get lots of money from my family.
ReplyDeleteThai New Year is my favorite holiday. Despite the fact that we all celebrate with water all over the country, we have a long holiday just like Christmas holiday. The city is almost empty because most of people travel back to their hometown. There is no traffic, no more waiting in line. We can get to one place in half of the normal travel time. Movie theaters are less crowded. It is also nice to enjoy the city when it is less crowded.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday is "Song-Gran day". It is a Thai new year. I like this holiday because it is a long holiday. I can go to other country to travel with my family or go to some place with my friend. Many people like to go to hang out with their friends. It has lots of fun in this holiday.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday is Christmas. Since I have been living in U.S. and having my own family I love it more and more.
ReplyDeleteThere are some differences between czech and american traditions but I am picking out cetrain what I really like. From american traditions I love for example to decorate our home right after Thanksgiving, for Christmas Eve I love to fill house with family and invite couple friends to have a beautiful atmosphere and in the morning open the gifts in pj's with hot chocolate :). From czech traditions I love to keep the tradition of baking cookies. Every year my grandma used to bake these czech traditional cookies. She usually baked a few kinds. I can't imagine my Christmas without them and I can't wait when my daughter will old enough to help mommy:). Other our tradition is to open gifts on Christmas Eve..... I like to have a lot of gifts, lol. We call Christmas "Generous Day" it means that we should have a lot of food and gifts.
Every Christmas I feel like a kid. I actually still believe in SANTA :).....of course I do!
So what!
One of my favorite holiday in my country we celebrate is "Tsagaan Sar". It translates White Moon. Most of the Asian countries celebrate and call New Year. Great thing about this holiday is we are going to meet our relatives and get to know each other. Also we eat alot of food and exchange presents, some people give money which was good when i was child. We also wear our traditional clothes. This holiday takes 3 days. We have visit and see each and every family that we are related.
